A few months before our first anniversary, my husband and I immigrated to the US. We arrived with 2 suitcases each, but fifteen years and two kids later, the US is our home.
I’ve always been adamant that everyone deserves a home - not just a house. A home tells the story of the people living there, has character, and personality. With my African roots embedded in US soil I created a home for my family, and bring that same philosophy to my clients.
After completing my studies, I started my career with an interior design company in South Africa. A few years later I started my own successful design business and once we were settled in the USA I worked for a custom window treatment and furniture company. When I became a mom I was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my kids. For many years I kept myself busy with my own decorating and renovation projects, and the projects of friends and neighbors. A few years ago I decided to re-enter the workforce. I started my own business so that I can pursue my passion, while still being able to give my family the love and attention that they deserve.
I believe that it is imperative, when designing a space, to know as much as possible about who the space is being designed for, and what the space will be used for. With this in mind, I ask a lot of questions, actively listen to the client, and study the current space to fill out the vision. I look forward to helping you create a thoughtful, livable, beautiful space because it is after all… your home.
